21/2/08 - Rangers to grab Bull by the horns
Stafford Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce that Steve Bull MBE, the Wolves ‘legend’, is to take up the position of Team Manager with immediate effect.
Speculation has been high over the past week or so but it was important to conclude negotiations with Steve properly before making a formal announcement but both parties are thrilled with the outcome. Steve has a profile which we believe will bring supporters both old and new to Marston Road. He passionately wants to get back into the sharp end of football. He believes Stafford Rangers is the ideal environment for him to prove himself as a manager in the same way as a player, leading from the front and giving everything to the job in hand.
Whilst he takes over the hot seat immediately, Steve will be spending the next couple of weeks looking carefully at the strengths of all the playing staff and trying to improve the standing of the club in the league by picking up some points at Halifax on Saturday and Histon next Tuesday night.
Steve’s first home game in charge at Marston Road will be against Farsley Celtic on Saturday 1st March in what will be a crucial battle for three points for both teams.
Whilst we believe that Steve Bull will be great for Stafford Rangers, we want to express our thanks to Neil Grayson and Kevin Street for the magnificent job they have done in stepping in as caretaker managers at our hour of need. We will not forget the hard work they have put in or the loyalty they have shown and have no doubt that they will play an integral and pivotal role in Steve’s future plans.
Steve will formally sign for the club at 8 pm in the Social Club at Marston Road on Wednesday 27th February and we will let you know the plans we have for the day.
Rangers’ fight for survival goes on and Steve Bull will be doing his best to drive the team forward.
One thing for sure – life at Marston Road will never be dull!
Thanks for your support
