12/2/08 - Histon v Stafford match preview
Stafford Rangers will be looking to follow up Saturday’s win when they visit Histon on Tuesday, 12th February.
With Djimi Sangare back from serving a one-match ban, caretaker managers Neil Grayson and Kevin Street face the decision of either slotting the defender back into the starting line-up or keeping a winning side. Definitely out are Ross Draper who serves the final match of his suspension and Jemiah Richards. Matt Hazley probably won’t be fit enough to return until the weekend.
The Cambridgeshire side, newcomers to the Blue Square Premier this season, currently occupy 11th position in the table with 44 points from 29 games. They have won five of their twelve home league games, losing four. Histon are on a run of four league and cup games without a win and lost 3-0 at Oxford United on Saturday. Their last Blue Square Premier victory came at the beginning of January when they travelled to Yorkshire and returned with a 3-0 win over Farsley Celtic.
Antonio Murray scored twice at Farsley and he had netted eight league and cup goals this season, two behind leading scorer Cliff Akurang who left Histon to join Barnet in the January transfer window.
Stafford and Histon have met just once before. Earlier this season it finished 1-1 with Neil Grayson cancelling out John Kennedy’s early goal.
